New In - Models Own

New In - Models Own

More New Products!!! I love hunting around for new things, it's like shopping without spending
any money!

Models Own have launched two collections in time for spring, one is a new update of the Hypergel
Collection and the other is the Icing Collection. I love the Hypergel polish, it lasts for ages and the colour payoff is always spot on. The Spring update is full of pinks, purples and blues, all of which are suitable for the coming seasons.

The Icing Collection appears to be frosted pastel colours. from the swatches I've seen they are all very pastel and sugary, very girly and sping appropriate!

Finally are the Chrome Body Tattoos - I love these and want them all over my arms for spring and summer - I think these need to come home to me very soon

So there you are, just a few new bits this week from Models Own - what do you think of the new bits?

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Blushing Bride

There are always some brands that you think you will never get your hands on, you squish the idea to the back of your mind and try to forget but when you see it on a blog sale you can't really let the opportunity pass you by. One of the brands for me that do this is Tarte, Ever since I started reading blogs I've wanted to give it a try, specifically the Clay Blushes. Reviews all say they have great colour payoff and last for a long time, which is good for me and my combination skin!

I picked up the shade Blushing Bride, it was the day after I got engaged and it felt like it was meant to be, plus I was already thinking of bridal make up - daft that that was the first thing I thought of!

Blushing bride is described as a 'plummy rose' colour, on my skin tone it’s more of a raspberry pink, In the pan there is a faint shimmer but I can't get that to show up on my skin thankfully. The colour is very pretty, you need the lightest of touches to get a light wash of colour but you can build it up if you want to. I find it works for a nice glow on the apples of the cheeks, perfect for a pop of colour this spring.

If you want to pick up a Tarte blush then it appears Sephora do them but obviously shipping is expensive so keep your eyes peeled on blog sales!

What do you think of Blushing Bride? Have you tried any of the other colours?

Finally, we have some sun shine! Spring is really kicking in, the sun has been out all day and it's making me want to buy lots of new make up! So this week I've picked out a few old bits with a mixture of the new to my collection bits.

A new base in the form of Maybelline Dream Flawless Foundation in Ivory - I've used this a couple of times and so far I am impressed with the light coverage and feel on the skin, a full review soon! The eye bags are bag with a vengeance at the moment, so they need a bit of concealing and brightening from Benefit's Fake Up in 01 light. Colour on the cheeks from a new product, Hourglass Dim Infusion. I picked this up from a blog sale a couple of weeks ago; it’s such a nice, coral colour, perfect as the weather gets warmer.

Brows from the usual suspect, Anastasia Dip Brow, can't beat it at the moment. On the eyes, two new colours from Maybelline 24hr Colour Tattoo, in Creamy Beige and On & on Bronze. Both of these are lovely base colours or on their own, I like to blend them into the crease with the rest of the eye nude. Liner is an old favourite, Laura Mercier is Espresso, and it’s quick and easy to throw on, even for those who are cack handed like myself! Lashes are another new, Benefit Roller Lash; I've fallen in love and already purchased the full size!

So those are a few new bits for this week - keep a look out for further full reviews.

What are you using this week? Have you fallen in love with Roller lash as well?

Review - Nars Virtual Domination Cheek Palette

Review - Nars Virtual Domination Cheek Palette, #bbloggers, Make Up, Blog

Review - Nars Virtual Domination Cheek Palette, #bbloggers, Make Up, Blog

Can we take a moment to just look at this palette? Isn't it beautiful?!  I often try to avoid falling for the hype of palettes, but there are just some that you can't quite shake and the Virtual Domination Cheek Palette from Nars is one that I couldn't get off my wishlist.

Nars are known for their blushes, loads of people rave about them. Made up of a highlighter, 3 blushes and a bronzer, Virtual Domination is a great palette if like me you're a bit of a beauty addict and like to try out something before committing to the full size version.

In the palette you get - Miss Liberty Highlighting Blush, Limited Edition Sex Fantasy Blush, Deep Throat Blush, Limited Edition Final Cut Blush and Laguna Bronzing Powder

I've heard a lot about Laguna and Deep Throat and now that I've tried them I see what the fuss is about. You really only need the lightest amount on your brush to get really good colour pay off, plus they leave a lovely finish on the skin. I haven’t tried the highlighter yet but I think come summer this will be my go to.

The packaging is sleek and stylish, not something you really should judge a product on but it does help! It's perfect for someone who travels as you can take multiple products with you.

You can pick this up from SpaceNK for £45, quite a lot for one item but really you are getting 5 products!

There you have it, a gorgeous palette that will carry you through the year! What do you think, is it worth the money?

New In - River Island

New In - River Island

I love looking at the Just Arrive pages as there are so many lovely, transitional pieces at the moment,
lots of bits that I really want because I need them in my life as well as bits that I want just for the hell
of it!

River Island is a brand that I fall in and out of, I don't often pick up much from there but I love so much
they have a really good, 90's collection, plus their items are a bit longer than other stores
(I’m looking at you Topshop!)

1) At this time of year I like to have a clear out of a lot of basic tops and replace them with new so
this ribbed vest top is perfect, plus it isn't cropped! I wear these under checked shirts and other
button tops just to add another layer as it's still a bit chilly.

2) I love this wrapped front shirt, I picked it up in grey for a party and it was instantly love. It sits
beautifully, with a longer hem at the back and a flattering front. For a party it's fine but for work
I need to wear a grey vest top as the drape is open and the children in my class do not need to see
my bra!

3) As the weather gets warmer I want to wear more dresses but hate saying good bye to my beloved
check print. This grey top would love lovely under chunky cardies with tights or leggings now and
maybe with shorts in the summer.

4) Shirt dresses are having a bit of a moment in the spotlight and this one deserves to be in it!
A navy rather them my usual black, this is a lovely shirt, perfect for work or drinks, dressed up with
heels (see next point) or chunky boots and tights.

5) Those block heels are the heels of dreams! I love the open toe and ankle strap - hello 90's and
00's school disco!

6) Finally, another check print shirt dress, dressed up or down this is an easy throw on and go outfit!

I think after looking at these so much I do need to go and have a bit of a splurge in River Island,
maybe I need to give it a bit more time.

What do you think of my picks?

My Make up Bag #6

Now the weather is slowly getting warmer, the bits that I've been picking have changed a little, not a great deal as really I'm quite lazy but there is something about bringing out much loved 'Spring' appropriate items.

As a base this week, I've reached for Benefit's Big Easy as it's light and gives a good finish, plus it lasts well without being too heavy. Concealer is a new tube of Rimmel's Wake Me Up concealer, although I'm kinda falling out of love with it, no idea why but I'm just not feeling it at the moment. To add colour is Benefit's 10, a light bronze/highlight combo that is great for this time of year.

Moving onto peepers and brows are still ruled by Dipbrow from Anastasia, my love for this keeps growing. Eye base is Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Permenant Taupe, this is more as a base as I'm loving mixing it up with different palettes as the moment. Liner, and two choices. For lazy mornings its Urban Decay 24/7 Liner in Stag, but if I have a bit more time then Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Eyeliner in Caviar Ink will be flicked on. Finally, lashes from Rimmel Scandaleyes Retro Glam, can't beat this for MASSIVE lashes without the price tag.

Fingers crossed this make up will last me well as I need it to, lots of exciting things happening at work and there's nothing like having good make up on your face to give you a confidence boost.

I'd love to know what you think of any of these products, what's in your make up bag this week and whether you like reading these sorts of posts!

NOTD - Essie Suite Retreat

Essie Resort 2015 Suite Retreat Swatches, bbloggers, NOTD, nails

Essie Resort 2015 Suite Retreat Swatches, bbloggers, NOTD, nails
Essie Suite Retreat - Boots £7.99

After my wander around and sub-concious shop in Boots last week I found myself standing infront of the Essie stand where they had their Spring Resort 2015 collection. I didn't realise but they bring out a pre-main collection or resort collection made up of 4 colours and this season there are two bold colours and two nudes. I picked up three of the 4 and the first one I have to show you today is Suite Retreat.

Described as 'Blissed our Blue Orchid' Suite Retreat is a beautiful muted blue toned purple, perfect for the transition from winter to spring. Application was smooth and even, two coats and it has a lovely cream finish with no streaking or dragging, this is down to the brush Essie give us, which is wide. Suite Retreat dried really quickly, two coats were touch dry in 10mins, smudge dry in 20mins, perfect for those of us with busy lives.

I love this colour, its the most bold in the collection and one that I will probably wear the most over the coming weeks, its work and weekend appropriate.

What do you think of Suite Retreat?

I'm Engaged!!!!!!

So this is kinda old news now, infact its been 3 weeks since it happened but it has taken me this long to actually process it and not feel silly when I tell people.

On Friday 6th February my wonderful boy got down on one knee in our little home and asked me to marry him. To me it was the most perfect and surreal moment I've ever been in, not the great, over the top proposal that some people love but the kind that shows he knows me and knows I wouldn't have wanted that.

To me, the most romantic part was that the week before he had managed to visit my parents to ask their permission - no mean feat considering we live over 100miles apart!

Now the exciting part can start, actually planning the wedding! I don't quite know what to do or how to go about all of this, so I'm looking for wedding blogs or wedding posts, please leave links in the comments below.

My Make up Bag #5

Some times with blogging you just find yourself not really wanting to sit down and write about the things you have but a quick refresh with some new bits from Boots and the odd blogsale and I can't wait to get writing again! Plus I had a crap week at school, lots of things went wrong so I a lot few new bits were obviously needed!

For this weeks base I've picked an old favourite, Maybelline's Superstay 24hr Foundation as I need a bit more coverage at the, more of a confidence boost then anything. Concealer not in the picture is the usual Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer although I am on the hunt for a new one as I'm finding it a bit cakey at the moment. Now spring has almost sprung, I want to add a bit of warmth back in before I start reaching for the fake tan so in my Boots splurge I picked up Soap & Glory's Solar Powder after reading lots of reviews. For a pop of brightness I picked up my first ever Tarte Amazon Clay blush from a blog sale, the aptly named Blushing Bride, it's my new love.

Onto eyes and this week I'm just going to play with Soap & Glory's Supercat black liner, I'm always trying to master the perfect black line. Eye shadow will probably be different each day, but I'm tempted to try out the Bourjois Colourband, I've picked up three so keep a look out for them. Lashes are from my latest newbie, Benefit's Rollerlash. I've loved using this since I used the sample from the Elle magazine last month so I had to pick up the full size. Not pictured is my Anastasia Dip Brow Pomade, can't live without it.

I'm sure these will get mixed up day to day as well, I've got a few other bits and pieces I want to use but I will report back.

Anywhoo, now to get on with some more blogging, its so nice to have my mojo back!

What bits are you using this week? Have you tried any of my picks? Leave your comments in the box below!
