Ebay!!!

I'm trying to get rid of a few things, most is from Ann Summers as I used to be a Party Organiser - all of it is up on ebay and I'm still adding!

Why not have a look and maybe treat yourself!

Primark Purchase

Afternoon all, hope this post finds you well. At the weekend, I didn't get up to much but wanted to find a new dress.

On Friday I am going to my boyfriend's cousin's 21st/going to Ibiza party and I wanted something new for that. Funds are limited at the moment, so to Primark we headed and there I found this gorgeous dress:

For only £15.00 this was a steal. It is a gorgeous watermelon colour, with a slip underneath, however I think I will swap that out with another one, or just a plain black top.

I'm not quite sure how to dress this - black leggings and sandals and gold accessories or not - I'm not ready for bare legs yet! Any advice would be great, and then I'll show off my accessories later on in the week!

Hair Saviours

Evening all, hope you've had a good weekend and nearly ready for Easter.

I'm totally enjoying my Easter break from school as its given me a lot of time to do things that I have been neglecting. One of the big things I have been ignoring is my poor hair.

My hair is the bain of my life, I have medium length hair that has a life of its own. On a good day I get a nice long curl out of it, on a bad day I have a frizzy mess! It used to be longer but I had it cut back in August and since then I've been trying to get it to grow back to the long length.

For school I have 3 hair styles: 1 - down and straightened lightly, 2 - down and natural curl helped by mousse, 3 - up in a high messy pony or bun.

All of these depend on my time management in the morning, and most times I end up with natural curl. The only problem is this dries my hair out loads, but lazy me wanted 10 minutes more in bed for the last week of school. So my hair paid for it and I ended up with hair so dry, you could start a fire with it!

So I had to take drastic action, and delve into my box of tricks to sort it out, so here are my hair saviours:

From left to right, Lee Stafford Hair Treatment, Umberto Giannini Overnight Beauty Balm and Aussie Miracle Insurance Leave in Conditioner.

The Umberto Giannini is the best thing ever - this is a great balm that you smooth over poor, dry hair before bed and in the morning just wash as normal and it is amazing! This put soo much moisture back into my poor hair.

I'm going to do a separate post on the Lee Stafford and the Aussie, but I just wanted to show off what I love when my hair represents the Sahara!

What do you use when you hair is in need? Anything else I should try?

Spring Clean - Me, myself and My Body!

Over the weekend, I went out with my nephew to a castle and we took loads of pictures ( as you do) When looking back over these pictures, I was shocked to see how big I have got in the past couple of months, on top of the weight I have gained from when I started uni!

So when I jumped on my scales, me worst fears were confirmed - weight has increased, and even my tape measure wasn't being my friend :(

So its time I did something about it, and to help I'm setting a target to have lost 2stone by: 13th August. That's the date of my other half's step brothers wedding, and his step sisters are both slim and gorgeous!

So here is my Spring Clean routine:

Exercise - 1hr at least 4 times a week, this will be a mix of classes, gym and also fitness dvds. I'm also going to try and fit a walk in during lunch time at work

Water - I saw over on Chic Beauty Blog's blog that she is planning on drinking 2ltrs of water a day, and I really think this is the key. I often feel more hungry when I haven't drank anything for a while and then I over eat.

Food - I gave up bread a while ago as I suffer with IBS, and I accidently ate it yesterday and today my body is making me pay for it today :( So from now on I am going to pay more attention to what I put in my body, it needs to be good food for long term fuel, not short term fuel ( crisp's I'm looking at you!) I'm going to eat little and often with smaller meals and better combinations of food, more protein and less carbohydrates.

Measurements - For many years I have been a slave to the scales, and would jump on them every morning and that would either set me up or knock me down for the day. From now on, I'm only going to get on the scales once a week and I'm going to focus on how my clothes fit and how I feel.

To compare any difference, I'm going to post my weight and measurements each week, well weight each week, measurements every 2 weeks.

So my starting point:
Heigh: 5ft 9
Size: 14 on top, 16 on bottom
Weight: 14st 5lbs :(
Thighs - 26.5inch
Bum - 46inch
Hips - 43inch
Waist - 36inch
Bust - 38DD
Arm - 14inch

Is there anyone else who wants to join in with this? Let me know below what your goals are for the summer!

Spring Clean-out

Afternoon all, hope your having a good day, for me its the 1st day of my Easter holiday, and I've done so much in school! I needed to clean out my stock cupboard and it inspired me to have a clear out of my bathroom and make up stash!
So here are my collection of things that I want to get rid of by using them up!
I have:
The whole Clinique 3 step program to get through. I have hardly any face was left, but loads of the toner and moisturiser.
Kate Moss Roses Perfume
Benefit You Rebel Light Tinted Moisturiser
Soap and Glory Sit Tight
Maybelline 24hr Super Stay - I've so nearly finished this, and I totally love this!
Lush Snow Fairy, I don't want to use all of this up as I love it but I have loads of others ready and waiting!

I will keep you updated on my progress, I need to use these up and try and save some money, fingers crossed!

Boots 17 Nail Extras Crackle Top Coat

Hot on the heels of every other brands crackle polish, Boots 17 bring their offering, and not the standard black but in GOLD!!!

I introduce Boots 17 Nail Extras Crackle Top Coat:

A really pale gold that has an interesting finish - it is almost matte, with a teasing hint of shimmer. I painted this over the top of the Boots 17 Supreme Shine from the last post as I felt it needed a dark base to really let the gold pop! I painted the polish diagonally across the nails, to try a different finish and I think it looks pretty cool!

Pros:
  • Drying Time - as with all crackles, this dried really quickly, however I think this would be affected by the thickness of the polish
  • Price - £3.99 for the bottle and you get 10ml, another bargain as it is on the Boots 3 for 2 offer!
Cons:
  • Thickness of the polish - this was really tricky to get a thin layer so that I would get a lot of crackling, I couldn't get one thin layer so I painted 3 thinish layers diagonally across the nail and the finish was good.

Another great polish from 17, but how much longer are we going to be in love with crackles and start going off this? What do you think, are you bored of crackles yet? Or still loving them?

Boots 17 Supreme Shine 10 Day Wear

Time for a change of brand and a new line from Boots! I love the 17 range from Boots, and have loads in my collection, however I tend to save them for the summer as most of them are pastel colours, so when I saw this colour, I really couldn't resisit!

Introducing Boots 17 Supreme Shine in Wicked:

This is a gorgeous pink toned purple with an iridescent blue shimmer that shows up under natural lights and a camera flash.

This polish claims to provide 10 days wear, however I'm not so sure as even my Models Own cannot survive longer then a week, and thats with a base coat and a layer of Seche Vite - so I'm going to be wearing this colour for the next 10 days, with no base and no top coat to see what happens, and if it survives my busy life then that will be fantastic!
Pros:

  • Extra Wide Brush - this brush is great, it fits even my wide nails, so I don't have to do as many sweeps, and I actually had to do less clean up which is great
  • Price - you get 10ml for £3.99, and 17 is on offer at Boots at the minute on a 3 for 2, so another excuse to by more colours!
Cons:
  • Extra Wide Brush - Because the brush is wide and flat, it's too easy to wipe all of the polish off the brush before painting, or not getting enough off and it blobbing everywhere!
  • The claim about 10 days - I will keep you updated!
Any-whoo, there are 15 shades in this collection and they are really pigmented and shiny, without a top coat! What do you think?

Model Own - Utopia

Morning all - nearly the weekend and I have another polish to show you.

Introducing Models Own Utopia:

This is a lovely lilac tinged white/grey, which is very flat, and looks white in certain lights.

Out of all of the new Models Own colours I've tried, this one I actually had trouble with, and it caused a bit of dragging on my thumbs, but not something that a coat of Seche Vite can't cure!

Out of all of the new Models Own Spring collection, this has to be my second favourite ( Concrete Mixer is my favourite one!) I think this one looks great now, I think it will really pop in the summer against a more tanned skin tone!

I really love Models Own, currently sat on the site having a look at what I want next, but I need to curb my nail polish spending, trying to save for a deposit!

However popped into Boots today and picked up these three to try soon!
And because I haven't put a picture up in a while, here is a hamster picture, looking very cute in his bed!

I'm after recommendations for future Models Own purchases, so please leave a comment below!

Until next time, keep dancing about in Knickers and Nail Polish!!! ( Too cheesy?!)
