My Make up Bag #6

Now the weather is slowly getting warmer, the bits that I've been picking have changed a little, not a great deal as really I'm quite lazy but there is something about bringing out much loved 'Spring' appropriate items.

As a base this week, I've reached for Benefit's Big Easy as it's light and gives a good finish, plus it lasts well without being too heavy. Concealer is a new tube of Rimmel's Wake Me Up concealer, although I'm kinda falling out of love with it, no idea why but I'm just not feeling it at the moment. To add colour is Benefit's 10, a light bronze/highlight combo that is great for this time of year.

Moving onto peepers and brows are still ruled by Dipbrow from Anastasia, my love for this keeps growing. Eye base is Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Permenant Taupe, this is more as a base as I'm loving mixing it up with different palettes as the moment. Liner, and two choices. For lazy mornings its Urban Decay 24/7 Liner in Stag, but if I have a bit more time then Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Eyeliner in Caviar Ink will be flicked on. Finally, lashes from Rimmel Scandaleyes Retro Glam, can't beat this for MASSIVE lashes without the price tag.

Fingers crossed this make up will last me well as I need it to, lots of exciting things happening at work and there's nothing like having good make up on your face to give you a confidence boost.

I'd love to know what you think of any of these products, what's in your make up bag this week and whether you like reading these sorts of posts!

#BigBlogmasproject2014 Day 17 - Christmas Drinks FOTD

Time is racing now - only 3 days left at school until the holidays and really it can't come fast enough - only the panto and Christmas Dinner to get through! Last Friday, a couple of the lovelies from work got together for some Christmas drinks and I threw this on after work on top of what I already had on.

Base was L'oreal True Match which is a mix of Ivory and True Beige as its the only way to get a true enough colour for my skin plus this leaves a great base that lasts, mixed with a little Benefit That Girl for extra staying power. Those end of term eye bags are covered with Benefit's Fake Up - so well loved that I need to pick up a new one.

Onto the eyes and a new product in the shape of Naked 2 - I adore the neutral colours and the little palette is perfect for in my make up bag to carry around. Brows took shape with the gorgeous Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade, the perfect shade for me and it's love really, a good brow day most days now! Lashes thanks to Rimmel Scandaleyes, love it!

Cheeks and lips now - Cheeks with Benefit's Dallas to give a bit of warm flush, I'm no good with pink blushes but this is awesome, On the lips its Rimmel's Moisture Renew in Sloane's Plum, a gorgeous plum colour that is hydrating and looks lovely!

So that's what I threw on my face for the day and some drinks, what do you think? What are you wearing at the moment? xx

Review - Urban Decay Naked 3

Review Urban Decay Naked 3

Review Urban Decay Naked 3

Way back in January was my birthday and I was luckiest enough to be bought the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette. It’s taken me ages to review it because I've spent a lot of time playing with it, using it to create day looks and night out looks, so I now feel I know it well enough to talk about it.

This was released before Xmas, a more pink-toned sister to the warm Naked 1 and cool Naked 2. For someone pale, this is the most flattering of the three palettes. With 12 new, warm toned colours, this is one that everyone should have.

I love that this one is housed in a tin rather than the cardboard packaging of the first. It’s strong and sturdy, perfect for travelling, plus the mirror is really clear - I have been known to pull this out on the train for touch ups. You get a double ended brush, one smaller and denser the other a lot fluffier, perfect for blending.

I've not swatched the colours as everyone and their dog knows what they look like, plus Temptalia does as much better job than I would ever do! Out of all the colours my most used ones are Nooner (medium pinky-brown matte), Liar (medium metallic mauve shimmer) and Factory (pinky-brown satin), their great for a wash of colour on their own, or mixed with others to create more dimension.

All of colours are highly pigmented, soft and blendable meaning that even I can create perfect eye looks. There is some fall out, but I find it easier to do my eyes first so it doesn't bother me.

You get a sample of the different Primer Potions with the set as well, I've used most for nights out, and it does help the longevity of the colours, plus I have oily skin so they don't stay put so well.

Over all, this is my go to palette for day or night, it’s easier to wear and one that I enjoy using.

What do you think, one that you love? How do you wear yours? Xx

Sunday Make-Up Shake-Up #16

This weeks picks reflect my mood this week - I'm so tired during the week I want to keep it as minimal as possible so this means 5mins longer in bed!

- Garnier 5sec Blur Primer - I need this as my skin is getting oiler & I need to get it back under control again - any tips on a postcard please!

- Rimmel Stay matte Foundation - I like the old formula so this is a new purchase to try & compare for the week, I blame Kat from Jemima & Ted after her review!

- Bobbi Brown Corrector & Creamy Concealer - tiredness = tote bags under the eyes which must be disguised!

- Urban Decay Naked Palette - Multi-tasking brows & eyes, I can't be bothered to faff this week.

- Benefit They'Re Real Mascara - I don't look awake at the moment so this makes my mole eyes look a bit more open!

- Rimmel Stay Blushed - Love this, more in a review this week!

& that's it, liner will be from the Naked Palette & I'm trying to sort my lips back out, already a chapped, cracked mess!! So no lip products this week - boo :(

Oh well, 6 products should buy me a bit more time in bed every morning! Next week I might even try & get it down to 5!!

What bits are you using this week? Xx

Shopping my Stash #14

Evening lovelies, how miserable is the weather today, means everyone's gone a bit mad at school, not being able to get outside!

So something to brighten your day, this weeks stash.

Face:

- Murad Skin Perfecting Primer - this appeared many months ago in the January Glossybox, looked at it and put it in my bag of samples and forgot about it, but I'm making myself to use up the products and this one is actually quite a nice product. It applies quite dark on my pale skin but as you blend this disappears and it feels more like a tinted moisturiser.

- 17 Matte foundation - a new product to me, but I've been curious for a while and so picked it up while it was on offer in Boots at the weekend. It claims to leave skin feeling and looks matte for longer - let's see how this copes with my oily skin!

- Benefit Erase Paste - a nice, thick, full coverage concealer for those big bag days, a must after half term!

- Benefit Georgia - I have this just on my forehead as that remain oily no matter what I try, I have this invade the foundation doesn't live up to claims.

- Benefit Dallas blusher box - the sun may not be shining, but this add a warm flush to the skin as though you've been in the sun for weeks. I adore these boxes, and swear by this one for the cooler summer days as its not tan or pink!

Eyes:

- Urban Decay Primer Potion - Another sample, I ignored it as I didn't know if it would replace my beloved Lemon Aid but I fancied a change, and this was the first one I found.

- MUA Immaculate Collection - I love this palette but I really need to become more adventurous with it as intend to be quite safe. So many pigmented colours that I never use, this will be my mission this week!

- Rimmel Scandalous Mascara - another newbie for me, borrowed this from my mum (sorry mum!) as I was curious about it, will it compete with my favourite mascara - Maybelline Falsies?!

- NYX Eyebrow/Liner Pencil in Medium Brown - picked this up a while ago. I like it for brows and eyes for a bit of definition.

- Avon Glimmerstick in Copper - something different for a change.

- Benefit Browzing in Medium - this was my main brow kit for many years but it has become somewhat ignored with the arrival of my HD brow kit but I love the brow wax for keeping my brows defined.

So there you have it, another week and another stash shopping - what products have you chosen this week?

Shopping my stash #13

Afternoon lovelies, hope your well. I'm taking a short break from report writing today to blog so this is it and then it's back to the grind - I might switch to writing planning soon as I'm bored of reports!

So this week has been a very delayed week, I've spent time at my parents home which chills me out and I didn't want to come back to reality! But I need to be back into some sort of routine, so I thought I would show you what makeup I'm wearing on my week off.

Face:

- Benefit Porefessional - I am officially in love with this, it smooths out my skin, so I use less foundation but I still have enough coverage. I apply this with my Real Techniques Stippling brush to get full coverage and then use the same brush to apply the foundation.

- Benefit Hello Flawless foundation - This is something I'm loving at the moment. It works really well with the primer, and it leaves my oily skin quite matte for quite a while, and it's doesn't cling to my dry bits.

- Benefit Benetint - I've owned this for a while and I love it on my pale skin all year round. I had forgotten about it until recently but I like to mix it with the Sunbeam to give a sun kissed glow.

- Benefit Sunbeam - This is a really new product, I bought it with visions of playing with it on sun kissed skin now summer is upon us...that plan didn't work out as well as planned, so I've had to rework it with the Benetint. I will write a review of this soon, showing how I use it but so far I like it.

- Mac Harmony Blush - This is more of a bronze then a blush on me so I use it as a contour shade, warming up. Y snow white skin to bring a healthy summer glow, another product to review at some point.

Eyes:

- Urban Decay Naked Palette - Not very original this week but this travels well and gives me all the colours I need.

- Maybelline Colossal Volume Waterproof Mascara - its that time of year where my eyes start streaming for no apparent reason and I end up looking like a member of KISS so waterproof is a must

- Inka Mineral Eyeliner - This was in a Glossybox and since I've started using it, I've grown to love it! So I've been using it quite a bit recently as its quite a nice, neutral brown liner.

- Benefit Lemon Aid - A brilliant eyebase that helps keep my eyeshadow in place, or I just wear this alone if I'm in need for an awake look.

So there you have it, half term make up. It's quite a lot but I don't wear it all every day - today for example I'm wearing no make up as I need to give my skin a rest. Also its very Benefit heavy, that is because a lot of my basics are from there as I like the quality and I've had them a very long time!

Any items you use and love from my stash? Have you shopped your stash this week?

Shopping my Stash #12

Afternoon lovelies - its so nice to be sat at in my PJs writing this, usually on my home from work, stuck in traffic and probably a bit grumpy.

This weeks picks are some old and some new pieces, that I love and can't wait to love.

Face:

Benefit Porefessional - I cannot wait to try this after reading like a million reviews!
Benefit Hello Flawless Foundation - I have the powder version and its OK but this was amazing when the MUA put this on me in Harrods, feel this is going to be a bit love :)
Benefit Hervana - gorgeous, glowy skin makes the grey weather all disappear.
Mac Blush in Harmony - bought this off Buya-Power as it looked like a great contour colour, had forgotten about it so hope its good.
Benefit It Stick concealer - I apply this with the Real Techniques Shading Brush to leave a smooth finish
HD Brows - love this, need to use this more often

Eyes & Lips

Benefit Lemon Aid - A great base for my make up, this really helps it last all day, I can even use it on its own to make me look more awake.
Urban Decay Naked Palette - Great for a different look each day, if I was only allowed one eyeshadow set ever again, then this would be it!
Bourjois Coup de Theatre Mascara - great for a subtle lash look, without being overpowering, a nice mascara.
17 Cosmetics Photofinish Eyeliner - I found this at the bottom of my bag, a liner that brings out the colour of my eyes is a good thing really :)
Duwop Venom Lipgloss - I'm not a big lip product person, but I'm trying to change this, starting with this gloss that I got from a Glossybox.

So lots of products this week, what are you using this week?
