My Make up Bag #5

Some times with blogging you just find yourself not really wanting to sit down and write about the things you have but a quick refresh with some new bits from Boots and the odd blogsale and I can't wait to get writing again! Plus I had a crap week at school, lots of things went wrong so I a lot few new bits were obviously needed!

For this weeks base I've picked an old favourite, Maybelline's Superstay 24hr Foundation as I need a bit more coverage at the, more of a confidence boost then anything. Concealer not in the picture is the usual Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer although I am on the hunt for a new one as I'm finding it a bit cakey at the moment. Now spring has almost sprung, I want to add a bit of warmth back in before I start reaching for the fake tan so in my Boots splurge I picked up Soap & Glory's Solar Powder after reading lots of reviews. For a pop of brightness I picked up my first ever Tarte Amazon Clay blush from a blog sale, the aptly named Blushing Bride, it's my new love.

Onto eyes and this week I'm just going to play with Soap & Glory's Supercat black liner, I'm always trying to master the perfect black line. Eye shadow will probably be different each day, but I'm tempted to try out the Bourjois Colourband, I've picked up three so keep a look out for them. Lashes are from my latest newbie, Benefit's Rollerlash. I've loved using this since I used the sample from the Elle magazine last month so I had to pick up the full size. Not pictured is my Anastasia Dip Brow Pomade, can't live without it.

I'm sure these will get mixed up day to day as well, I've got a few other bits and pieces I want to use but I will report back.

Anywhoo, now to get on with some more blogging, its so nice to have my mojo back!

What bits are you using this week? Have you tried any of my picks? Leave your comments in the box below!

My Make Up Bag #2

Finally I have my Big Girl camera back working and I got a tad snap happy this week but I have lots of lovely things I wanted to show you. My make-up choices this week really reflect how I'm feeling at the moment - I'm full of cold and so my skin is looking very sorry for itself and is not playing ball.

This week I've picked two bases dependent on skin days. Benefit Porefessional teamed with Bourjois 123 Perfect foundation for days when I can be bothered to apply a proper base and have a little more time in the morning. For days when I just can't be bothered, Benefit You Rebel Tinted Moisturiser as it gives just a tint to the skin without full coverage, plus it helps my poor, dehydrated skin around my nose. Concealer is my favourite from Rimmel, the Wake Me Up concealer is amazing and perfect for bag and break outs.

Onto eyes and I'm using a mix of a palettes, I can't choose just one as I've got a few new ones to play with thanks to the boy. Brows are my new go to favourite of Anastasia Dip Brow as it holds and fills my brows without looking over done. Mascara is Rimmel Scandaleyes Retro for full lashes. When I can be bothered, I will try to us Collection's Fast Stroke liner to add a bit of line to the upper lashes but this will depend on time and laziness factor in the mornings.

This is what I've got in my make-up bag this week; I'd love to know what you're using this week.

#BigBlogmasproject Day 13 - Top 5 Winter Lip colours

Half way through, I'm loving having so many posts on the blog! Today we're taking a look at my current 5 favourite Winter lip colours. I've never been much of a lip product wearer but this year
I've got into them in a big way! I struggled to narrow down my choices as I reach for a lot of colours but these 5 are my most used.

First up is Maybelline's Colour Drama in Keep it Classy. I love how this sticks around all day, perfect for shopping or going out for drinks.  Next up is Topshop's Wicked. I've had this for ages but don't often reach for it, A very purple berry colour, this looks awesome but needs re-applying. After that is everyones favourite Kate Moss in 107. This is a repurchase as I wore it so much last year, I love it! A super flattering red berry colour. A new one and one that is slowly becoming a regular we have L'Oreal Colour Riche in Blake's Red - a true blue toned red, I have to be careful with what makeup I wear this with but I like it with glowy skin. Finally is Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Grand Cru, I love this, one that I keep reaching for. All of these last a fair amount of time so are great for people like me who apply once and then forget about them!

I've got plenty of other colours that I'm loving, what colours are you loving at the minute? xx

This Week - Make Up #9

One week down, its been so nice to not head into school this week, I've chilled out at home with my two boys, been on adventures with my mum and sister and cracked on with more decoration, so blogging has taken a back seat this week. These are actually all the bits I picked to wear this week that's just passed, its been nice to mix it up a bit, plus use up some really old favourites that last well in the heat - is anyone else's faces literally melting?!

This week I've grabbed out some really old products from Benefit. You Rebel and You Rebel lite. You Rebel was the first product I tried from Benefit at the tender age of 15, I looked slightly orange but it started a love affair! When they released You Rebel lite I picked it up to mix with You Rebel to make it more wearable. Sadly Benefit have discontinued the You Rebel line, something I am gutted with but now the hunt for a new tinted moisturiser is on. I've been wearing a mix of the Look Beauty Fresh Cheeks cream blush and Benefits Dallas powder to give a summer glow. Eyes have been a combo of this really old Seventeen Metallics Palette, Laura Mercier Cream Liner in Espresso, Benefit Browzing and Maybelline The Colossal Volume Express Waterproof mascara. Finishing it off with a slick of Bourjois Rouge Edition in 11, a touch of coral.

I love this combo, its a great mix and textures and colours, perfect for the summer.

What bits have you been wearing this week? xx

Face:
Seventeen Miracle Matte Foundation (Old Packaging)
Bourjois Bronzing Primer
Benefit It Stick

Eyes & Brows:
Benefit Browzing
Maybelline Brow Drama
Collection Eye-shadow Pencil Hot Chocolate & Vanilla Sky
Maybelline Cat Eye Collossal Mascara

Those are the picks for this week, what bits are you using this week? xxx

Makeup - This Week #1

Back for the New Year, I'm changing things up with the photography on here, no idea what you think but I quite like how they're turning out, just need to work on the focus of things.

I've changed the name of the series because I felt like it, that’s all really :) Onto this week!
Back to school tomorrow, it’s been nice to be off school; however I am looking forward to getting back and seeing my lovely children again. I also need to get back into wearing make up again, I've worn next to nothing for the past two weeks and it’s been great, however I don't want to scare the children!

Base -
Benefit Porefessional Primer
Benefit Hello Flawless Foundation

Eyes -
Benefit Browzing
Rimmel Scandaleyes Mascara
Urban Decay Naked Palette
SEVENTEEN Tattoo Me Liner

Cheeks -
Rimmel Stay Blushed Cream Blush
Bourjois Bronzing Primer

There are all my picks for this week; I'm hoping to get some of the bits finished soon so they might make regular appearances. What bits are you using this week? What do you think of the different backgrounds this week?

Shopping my Stash #12

Afternoon lovelies - its so nice to be sat at in my PJs writing this, usually on my home from work, stuck in traffic and probably a bit grumpy.

This weeks picks are some old and some new pieces, that I love and can't wait to love.

Face:

Benefit Porefessional - I cannot wait to try this after reading like a million reviews!
Benefit Hello Flawless Foundation - I have the powder version and its OK but this was amazing when the MUA put this on me in Harrods, feel this is going to be a bit love :)
Benefit Hervana - gorgeous, glowy skin makes the grey weather all disappear.
Mac Blush in Harmony - bought this off Buya-Power as it looked like a great contour colour, had forgotten about it so hope its good.
Benefit It Stick concealer - I apply this with the Real Techniques Shading Brush to leave a smooth finish
HD Brows - love this, need to use this more often

Eyes & Lips

Benefit Lemon Aid - A great base for my make up, this really helps it last all day, I can even use it on its own to make me look more awake.
Urban Decay Naked Palette - Great for a different look each day, if I was only allowed one eyeshadow set ever again, then this would be it!
Bourjois Coup de Theatre Mascara - great for a subtle lash look, without being overpowering, a nice mascara.
17 Cosmetics Photofinish Eyeliner - I found this at the bottom of my bag, a liner that brings out the colour of my eyes is a good thing really :)
Duwop Venom Lipgloss - I'm not a big lip product person, but I'm trying to change this, starting with this gloss that I got from a Glossybox.

So lots of products this week, what are you using this week?

Shopping my Stash #11

Evening lovelies, second post from me tonight but I need to try and get into a routine again!

You know when your restrictive with something and you crave loads of different things...yeah well suffering with that at the moment so I'm giving myself some choice.

Andy Monkey helped me pick!
 Face:

- Maybelline Superstay 24hour foundation - I love this but its still a bit dark so I mix it with the Healthy Mix, lasts really well on my skin.

- Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation - A good one for toning down slightly darker foundations

- Benefit That Gal Primer - I haven't used this for ages so will try it for a week and then write up a review.

- Benefit It Stick Concealer - forgot I had this, so will try it out, but I remember I used to love it for a quick touch up.

- Benefit Georgia and Coralista - Both gorgeous boxes, Georgia sets my foundation well and Coralista leaves a gorgeous glow to my skin - dreaming of summer.

Eyes:
- ELF Palette - I have no idea of the names of any of the colours, but I quite like this little palette for a change.

- Maybelline Colour Tattoo - A fancy a change with a touch of gold, as the weather will hopefully start to warm up soon.

- Benefit Lemon Aid - I love this, still have the old packaging for it but leaves a great base for eye-shadow.

- HD Brow Palette - Need I say more :)

- Maybelline Falsies Mascara - A full, fluttery look is created with this, totally love it!

- NYX Liner in Brown - A great liner that lasts all day, also doubles as a eyebrow pencil :)

So there are all my choices this week - felt I needed a change and have discovered some real gems in my collection, if a touch Benefit heavy but I really love the products!

What are you wearing this week? xx

Shopping my stash #6

Afternoon lovelies, hope Monday wasn't too bad for you!

I hate Mondays, I always feel kinda out of it at school, not to mention tired! This week I've been picking items which will make me seem awake at school, but will last the day!

Face:

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation - Still trying to use it, have found two thinner layers gives better coverage but still not loving it (hurry up payday!)

Benefit Hervana & Coralista Blush Box - For me, Benefit make some of the best blushes, especially for those of us with pale skin! I think I have nearly every blush/bronze box and these two are ones that I reach for quite a lot for a fresh, spring flush!

Benefit Georgia Blush Box - I love this box, I love it so much that I have a back up one that I rushed out and bought when I found out that it was being discontinued. I use this to set my foundation and to tackle oily bits during the day, leaving a peachy flush!

Eyes:

Soap and Glory Wizard of Flaws - This was in a gift box from Christmas 2010(!) but clearing out the box in the bathroom brought it back to my attention and now I'm trying it out - will review it soon and let you know!

NYX Eye Palette in - I picked this up at a discount store over half term with my Mum. I havent used it yet but have heard a lot of good things about NYX so can't wait to try it out! Plus I only paid £4 for it!

17 Cosmetics Vintage Metallics palette - I found this in the bottom of my Beauty Box and knew I had to give it some love. I don't go for bright colours for spring so this is great for me and I love it, only wish they weren't Limited Edition as I don't want this to run out!

Bourjois Coup De Theatre 2 in 1 Mascara - I quite like this, the plastic brush means I can get separated lashes with a lot of product on, plus the product leaves me with thick, black lashes that I love! I received this with the Bourjois foundation at Christmas but I quite like it!

So there's my make-up for the week, I quite enjoy this although I do have a hankering for some new foundations, might need to mix it up with some of the ones I already have, but I would love an recommendations from you!

Bourjois Health Mix Foundation

Evening lovelies, hope you well and having a good week. I'm writing this on Wednesday but if it makes it up before Friday it will be a miracle!!(well I failed because its now Tuesday!) School has taken over my life and not in a good way! But enough of my ramblings...

For the past few months I've been using Bourjois' Healthy Mix Foundation after leaving my make up at home during a trip to the boys parents at Christmas and a rush into town picked this up as it was on offer in Boots.

I've never tried Borjois foundation as it was always more expensive and I didn't feel I could justify it in my student days. Since then there have been loads of reviews on blogs that I've read, many of which have had a totally different experience to me!

For me it is a light to medium coverage foundation which is build able to some degree. It does make my skin look fresh, however this only lasts a couple of hours before it starts to wear. My skin is having a bit of a mare at the moment, breaking out with dry and oily patches and this foundation is not helping! It starts to slide off the oily patches, whilst showing up any dry patches and it doesn't cover up any blemishes, instead clogging around them and making then stand out more, even with concealer.

The shade range is ok, more suited if you have a more yellow skin tone as this can make me look orange - I picked shade 52 as I'm not exceptionally pale but still lack a lot of colour!

My biggest bug bear with this product is the packaging. I don't know if it's just my bottle but I can't store it away, I have to stand it upside down otherwise the pump doesn't work and I can't get any product out! If I forget to put it upside then I can forget using it in the morning as it won't work at all, does anyone else have this?

For someone who has nearly clear to flawless skin this would be fine for them, being a good base but for me with my split personality skin it's all a bit stressful and now I'm just trying to use it up, mixing it with other products.

It wouldn't be something I will repurchase sadly, but it wouldn't stop me trying other foundations from Bourjois in the future.

What do you think? Have you tried it and loved it or loathed it?

Shopping my Stash #4

Evening lovelies, a late post from me but I'm snowed under with planning and assesment :( Hate that I can't give my blog my all at the moment but I need to focus on work.

So I shopped my stash on Monday night and here is what I picked!

Face:

  • Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation - I am not loving this at the moment, but until pay day I am suffering it .
  • 17 Photofinish Primer - Love this, only thing that is making me like the foundation.
  • Benefit Bella Bamba - This is a gorgeous blush that makes me look awake and lasts all day at school.
  • Benefit Erase Paste - It conceals best at this time of year.
Eyes:

  • MUA Eye Primer - Just evens out my eyelids and helps stop the liner from migrating
  • Maybelline The Falsies Mascara - LOVE THIS!
  • Boots No7 Gel Liner - LOVE THIS AS WELL!
So there you have it, what I'm throwing on in the morning in a half sleeping haze.

What are you using this week?

Thanks for reading xx
