Review - Maybelline Colour Drama (Nude Perfection & Keep it Classy)

Maybelline Colour Drama
Keep it Classy

Nude Perfection
I always read lip product reviews, its something I would love to achieve, perfectly lipsticked lips that last as I'm just to lazy to remember to reapply.  But I never buy any because of the previous point, I am just lazy with lip products. but when I saw reviews of the Maybelline Colour Drama lip pencils I thought it was about time I picked some of them up.

After a quick trip to Boots, I grabbed two from the range - Nude Perfection and Keep it Classy.

Keep It Classy - This is possibly the most misleading product in the world. I swatched this in Boots and under store lights it seemed a dark pinky nude, but when I got it home and tried it I found it to be a pinky berry red. I'm not complaning about the colour as its one that I will reach for a lot but it was a bit of a surprise really.

Nude Perfection - Like the rest of the world, I'm trying to find the perfect Kylie Jenner lip colour and after reading many blogs, I decided to add this one to the collection. Nude Perfection is just that, the perfect nude colour, nothing over the top, just a nice nude.

Application is very easy, just draw it on and away you go. They dry down matte and stay put for up to 3hrs, less if your eating or drinking a lot. Some people report them as feeling a bit dry but I don't find this, if you do then a slick of lip balm will sort this out.  You could wear these on their own or underneath another product to add more colour. I have heard that they are a Nars dupe but I can't really compare as I don't have any of them, but at £4.99 from Boots, I'm not really fussed about the Nars version.

Next on my list is Berry Much, I will report back if I pick this up.
Are there any other colours I should pick up? xx

The Autumn Tag

I love a good tag post, and whenever I see one, I just jump on board.

1. Coffee - What is your favourite seasonal drink from Starbucks or any other coffee shop? I adore a bog standard Hot Chocolate with Cream and Marshmallows from Costa, no extras just nice and simple.

2. Accessories - What do you opt for, scarves, boots, or gloves? I love boots, nice big chunky ones to wear with thick socks for going out and walking Ted.

3. Music - What's your favourite music to listen to during autumn? I don't change what I'm listening to during the Autumn, I'm just loving a lot of music at the moment - Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, George Ezra to name but a few.

4. Perfume - What's your favourite scent for this time of the year? I don't have any that I reach for more then others but I have been loving Burberry Weekend or Lacoste Inspiration for the last couple of weeks.

5. Candles - What scents will you be burning this season? I'm currently burning my way through a Yankee Candle that my mum bought as a house warming present, but I've just bought Spiced Orange and Fireside Treats to get me through Autumn & Winter.

6. What do you love the most about autumn? I love being able to get wrapped up warm and go exploring with the boy and Ted. We try and go out on the weekends and walk in different places, plus I get to take photo's in lots of lovely places.

7. Favorite makeup look? More brows and golds with liner and a berry lip - I'm trying to remember to wear lipstick but I'm rubbish at it!

8. What are you looking forward to the most in autumn? Getting out and about and then coming home, lighting a candle and watching films on the sofa under a blanket.

So there we have it, all my answers to the Tag. I tag anyone who wants to do this, link me below if you do it.

This Week - The Make up #13

How is it already November? It seems like the weeks left of this year are quickly fading and I'm running out of time to get everything done that I want.

To help combat the lack of time this week, I've picked products that work really quickly and will hopefully help to have more times in the morning.

To get a quick base I'm reaching for my new bottle of Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation, I know that this is is such a classic foundation now that will make me look like I've had more sleep then I'm getting at the moment. Coupled with that, to tackle dark circles, Benefits Fake Up concealer as its really quick to swipe on and blend in. To add some colour to the cheeks is an old favourite, Benefit's Coralista for a bit of a fresh, outdoor glow.

Onto eyes and I'm still reaching for Maybellines Colour Tattoo 24Hr in Metalic Pomegranate, blended into the crease and then winged out as its subtle but lovely. A slick of liner from Collection to add a bit of definition. Lashes courtesy of Rimmel's Scandaleyes Retro Glam, another repurchase but one that I adore for full, fanned out lashes. Not pictured because it's really grubby is my very well used Browzing from Benefit.

So that's it for this week, quick products to hoplefully make life a bit easier and quicker this week. Oh and a bonus pictures of my Photographer's Assistant!

What have you been using this week? xx

NOTD - Models Own Hypergel Purple Glare

NOTD - Models Own Hypergel Purple Glare

NOTD - Models Own Hypergel Purple Glare

NOTD - Models Own Hypergel Purple Glare

NOTD - Models Own Hypergel Purple Glare

It feels like ages since I've actually posted what I've had on my nails, but this weekend I took advantage of the sunlight and get some pictures.

I've reached for colours that are slowly getting darker, this week its Models Owns Hypergel in Purple Glare. I love the Hypergel range as the colour are really pigmented as well as being super high shine! As well as being shiny, the lasting power is top notch, I know this will last most of the week without chipping.

Application was quick and easy, two coats and this is what you get. A true grape purple, its very pretty and will look great against most skin tones.

Overall, for £4.99, Purple Glare is a smashing little polish, one that I must remember to use during the winter months more.

What do you think of Purple Glare? xx

This Week - The Make Up #12

Errr,,,,hi,,,,, remember me?! I'm not going to say sorry for not blogging, I've needed the time to sort a lot of stuff out and decide if I want to be blogging still, and I really do, just need to not put the pressure on myself to blog regularly.

I've had a massive sort out of my make up and had a real clear out which has uncovered some great forgotten favourites as well as some bits that I kinda forgot that I had bought!

For bases this week, my skin needs a little bit of coverage so I've picked up Rimmel's new Lasting Finish in Ivory. To add a bit of colour I've reached for Benefit's Hervana as its gorgeously light and just caught in the wind glowy.

On the eyes it's all about liner and smoked out colour, so using up the liner from Company and Maybelline's Metallic Pomegranite in the crease and corner. Lashes are from Origins, I've never tried their make up but I do adore their skin care.

I'm trying to use lip colours this Autumn so in a bid to get the 'Kylie Jenner' lip I've picked out Kate Moss for Rimmel in 03 and a nude gloss from Maybelline. If the lips stay this colour then I will be amazed as I normally forget.

Over all, not many changes , but its nice to pick out some old bits as well as some new bits. Have you tried any of these? What have you picked this week? xx

#SlimmingforSanta

It's that time again - the run up to Xmas where we all want to be able to enjoy ourselves, so in preparation for this I'm doing my own little fitness challenge #slimmingforsanta.

I'm not doing anything special, just exercising and tracking what I eat with My Fitness Pal (roxychick911 if you want to add me)

Normally I start these and then forget about them, so I've put it all up on the chalkboard in our kitchen so that the boy can help me be accountable for it - I certainly need someone to tell me off plus this will serve as a reminder during the week.

I've taken my start weight, which you can see is 198lbs or 14st 2lbs, it's not a weight I'm happy with but at 5ft 9" I don't look as heavy as I am - I'm aiming to get 14lbs off by Xmas so I can enjoy myself. I'll be updating on here in Saturday's as well as throughout the week on Twitter (@KnickersanNails) or on Instagram (Knickersannails).

If you fancy joining in then let me know, or follow my progress. Any tips for sticking to this?
