NOTD - Easy, last minute Halloween Nails

I write this as I'm on the train back to London from my parents. I threw on some nail polish 3 days ago and it was still looking good so thought I would blog it.

I don't get a chance to dress up for Halloween as much as I would like but nails are really quick. This was two coats of Topshop's Smashing Pumpkin and one coat of L'Oreal Confetti Topcoat.

I thought the orange was the perfect pumpkin orange and the black accents just make for a simple nod towards the festival. Normally Smashing pumpkin would have chiped within hours but the topcoat has meant it's lasted for 3 days and it's still looking ok.

Just a short post before I head onto the tube, what are you wearing on your nails for Halloween? Xx

WIWT - All Black Stars

I'm channelling my inner angry teenager today, I never normally wear block colour but I fancied wearing all black, must be this windy weather on my mood.

A lot of my current go to outfits have revolved around these boots. I've wanted a set of cut out boots for ages, dreamed about the Topshop Audrey boots but alas, they were always out of stock. Last time I was in New Look I picked up these boots as they were the perfect mix of chunky but not too ugly. I love the gold buckles in the sides, plus the cut out detail isn't too obvious. Their fairly flat form esque so you do get some height bonus.

I teamed it with my black quilted pleather skirt from New Look as I love this so much. I will probable never be able to squeeze my bum into real leather so pleather is fine. The quilted pattern makes it very versatile, dress it up with a shirt for work or chuck on a jumper for a more relaxed look.

Added to this, I've got my trusty Primark stars jumper from last year. Lily from Llymlrs wore this recently and I remembered that I had one as well so out it came. Paired with thick, black tights, this is a super snuggly outfit. I wore this last week to work & the kids loved it so I wore it again yesterday for a family roast dinner - perfect for hiding a food baby!

I quite enjoy wearing all black, might start experimenting with black/white combos for Autumn, especially with my boots! Xx

A quick update!

Afternoon lovelies, you probably didn't notice but things have been a tad quiet around here the last couple of weeks. This is because life became incredibly stressful at school in the run down to half term (yay!)

Thought I would do a little update of what's been going on.
First up, school has been a real roller coaster. These last 8 weeks have been a time of settling in with the children, setting the rules and truly find out what they can down. It has been a steep learning curve moving from Y5 to Y6 but now I adore my bunch of kids, we've all gelled as a group and enjoy being together, a good half term rounded off with an awesome Halloween Disco! I was the only member of staff to really dress up!!!

Last weekend I spent the weekend with my dad & the boy at a classic mini show. I'm obsessed with minis, mine is my pride and joy so it was great fun to be surrounded by other minis for the day! The weather was awful but that didn't stop hundreds of minis being there! It was also nice to be with my dad for a bit.

Finally, now it's half term there should be more regular posts for me, I plan to get as much work for school done and a shed load of pictures taken to see me through to Xmas. Also, I'm looking for guest posters for during my December Advent Calendar series where I post everyday! That's coming around fast so need to start planning.

Keep a look out this week for some exciting news, some of you might have seen it on twitter but I want to share it fully on here!! Lots of other posts to come as well, any suggestions as to what you would like to see?
How's your week been? Xx

NOTD - Models Own Sardoynx

Autumn has completely hit us, I'm writing this wrapped up in my
slanket and having my first Hot Chocolate of the season! I'm loving berry shades at the moment, so its only fitting that I cracked out the final Velvet Goth polish for this week!

Sardoynx is described as 'blood-red' and this isnt that far off, although its not a bright blood red, more a red wine red.

Packed with loads of tiny red & black glitter pieces suspended in a red jelly, this covers the nail really well in two coats to leave the standard matte finish. The only downside is that this is an absolute pain to remove! Oh well, its only a little thing

Models Own have created an awesome collection with the Velvet Goth, this is the collection I think I will be wearing all Autumn & Winter.

If you haven't seen the other colours then you can read my reviews of ValerianAmethyst, Absinthe and Obsidian

What did you think of the collection? Which one was your favourite? xx

Wobble-Less Wednesday - 10 Weeks til 'Xmas Challenge

Ok, so I feel a tad sick writing this but today marks 10 weeks until XMAS!!!!!! So the countdown is on in terms of getting everything sorted. I've started to make the Xmas cake for the Staff lunch at school, made a list of present ideas for presents and got a tad excited for Xmas at home this year!

With that in mind, I know I'm not the only one who wants to eat this xmas without the usual guilt that follows, so I'm setting myself and you a challenge!

No set amount of weight, just weigh less so we can eat more by Xmas! Its really hard to notice the little amount of weight that comes off, or the changes in size as the weight is often on the inside. So to keep motivated, I'm including this picture of an Xmas tree.

Right click on the image, save it, print it off and then each pound you lose colour in a section, start at the bottom and hopefully by Xmas you will have a lovely tree all coloured in!

Please let me know if your getting involved with this, I know I'm back on the focus with it all again so this time I will succeed! I will be updating with weight, measurements and maybe the odd picture as we count down, 10 weeks to go! What are your goals? xx

Review: L'Oreal Ever Riche Perfect Elixir

Review: L'Oreal Ever Riche Perfect Elixir
L'Oreal Ever Riche Perfect Elixir

The last time I went to the hairdressers I got a massive telling off, my poor ombre ends were in a very sorry state and I know its my own fault, dying it purple over the summer and abusing it with heat had made it look awful!

So after getting the chop I went in search of treatments to help heal and maintain the health of my hair. I'd heard a lot about the Ever Riche Range, Alix from I Covet Thee swears by the Shampoos & Conditioners from the range so they must be worth a check out.

I'm pretty content with my Shampoo/Conditioner routine so I opted for the treatments. I picked up the Perfect Elixir Masque Sprat because its designed for over processed, damaged hair - which my hair most certainly is! I liked the spray design of the bottle as there's less mess and fuss.

I use this twice a week, after washing & conditioning my hair I spray this on just the ends, leave for 10 - 15 mins and then rinse off. I'm left with lovely silky smooth ends, any split ends are not obvious and whats best is that when my hair is straightened, it doesn't look as awful!

This is my second bottle as this is a truly awesome masque, plus its sulphate free so hair and the environment are ten times happier! Boots normally have this on offer, currently its 3 for £12 on the whole range!

Right, I'm off to swoosh my lovely hair around a bit more, any other recommendations from the Ever Riche Range? xx

Review - Rimmel Stay Blushed in Pop of Pink

Review - Rimmel Stay Blushed in Pop of Pink & Swatch

Rimmel have been bringing out some awesome products just recently, with the re-formulation of their Stay Matte foundation there's also their first cream blush. I picked up Pop of Pink as I prefer pink blushes just generally.

In the little tube you get quite a bright pink cream, it can look very intimidating but it blends out to a really soft flush of pink rather then an in your face pink.

A little of this goes a long way, I dot this onto my check and then blend with my Real Techniques Stippling Brush to leave a soft finish. It lasted a full 12hrs, which is really good considering my oily skin.

For £4.49, I think that its a super little product and I quite fancy picking up Sunkissed Cherry. I hope Rimmel bring out some other colours, maybe even a darker on for contouring and a lighter one for highlighting as well.

What do you think? A perfect pop of pink? xx

NOTD - Models Own in Valerian

NOTD - Models Own in Valerian & Swatch

Its getting really dark early at the moment so I'm struggling to get pictures taken, think its time to invest in a light box or light ring. Oh well. This polish is my 2nd favourite from the Velvet Goth collection. I love the deep dark blue of Valerian, speckled with lighter and darker blue glitter pieces, a bit like the night sky.

I layered this over the top of Models Own's In the Navy to really make it darker. I love how it makes the colour pop so much more.

Wear on this was 4 days before tip wear but it lasted over a week without much more damage. Valerian, as with the others, is an absolute pain to get off but never mind.

I love the twinkly stars of this product, I will be wearing this a lot, even on my toes! For £5, another perfect little gem from Models Own.

What do you think? Loving Valerian? Any tips for removing glitter nail polish? xx

Rimmel, Maybelline, Benefit - Make Up

Rimmel, Maybelline, Benefit - Make Up

After a hectic week last week at work, I've got a little more time in the morning to play so I've picked a few bits extra this week! Yay for more time and make up!

- Benefit Hello Flawless Foundation - an oldie but a lovely foundation, I like this as I'm losing the summer colour and it gives good finish on my oily skin.

- Benefit It Stick - its a concealer, need it at the moment :(

- Benefit Browzing - The perfect match for my brows, NEED to get this used up so I can purchase a new one!

- Maybelline Colour Tattoo Metallic Pomegranate - An item I've been waiting to use, I love all the other so I'm happy this is in my collection! Will feed back on my hopes for this!

- Rimmel Blush in Santa Rose - Tanya Burr loves it, I love it, everyone should love it!

- Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl Liners - 3 to play with this week, can't wait to try out different eye looks.

- Rimmel Scanaleyes Mascara - I love this a lot, it rivals my love for Benefit's  They're Real, will review this soon!

I'm very Rimmel & Benefit heavy this week, oh well, its what I reached for before realising.

What bits have you picked for this week? If you do these posts, please link me below! xx

Asda Bras - An Absolute Bragain!

Sorry for the cheesy title, but I just had to!

There's one thing I hate about having big boobs and that's having to pay a fortune for decent quality bras! I can easily spend £20+ just on the bra, so I really begrudge buying them, even though they are needed. So when I was in Asda the other week I thought I would have a look as they do a really wide range of sizes in se great cuts. I've had Asda bras before & they have been better then some of my more expensive ones!

I picked up two new ones, one checked & one striped. I love the tshirt bras as they support but give a good shape under tops. The colours do mean I have to wear a vest top underneath but I really don't mind that. The checked one is on trend for autumn, whilst the striped one is just cute.

The best bit about the bras is that they are only £4 each! Yes I know, that's not possible, scaffolding for bigger boobs at such a cheap price, but it is!!

I implore you bigger boobied ladies, rush out to Asda & try for your self - at £4s, what have you got to lose!! Xx

Wishlist - Boohoo Urban English Collection

Boohoo Urban English

I often create wishlists on Polyvore and then forget about them because I don't seem to get a great response to these types of posts but I love them!

When the email popped into my inbox featuring Boohoo bits I decided that I needed to check them out. I've looked and wanted for a long time, but annoyingly their clothes seem a bit to short & no one wants to see a fat girl in a skinny girls dress but a lot of the new collections are featuring longer, midi length items!!

So here are my picks from the Urban English collection, a mix of check, tweed and knit to give a warm, grungy feel to autumn outfits. I love the check swing dress, it looks so comfy, especially to hide autumn food babies! The red and grey check skirts are perfect for work, plus I could wear them at the weekend as well with chunky ankle boots and socks. The coat is PU sleeved and just looks awesome for wrapping up warm, espescially if mixed with the faux fur stole, this year I will buy one of these!

I have actually placed my first EVER Boohoo order for the check smock dress and another dress, now to hunt out some cut out boots to wear this autumn/winter!

Which bits would you pick? Do you want to see outfit pictures with these items? xx
