Boots Coconut & Almond Intensive Hair Mask

Afternoon lovelies, hope your well. I'm meant to be writing planning but keep getting distracted by blogs and the need to blog myself!

Today I bring you my little miracle, Boots Coconut & Almond Intensive Hair Mask.

I really do not look after my hair as well as I should, just wash and if I have time condition but very rarely do I remember to use anything else.

I thought I would attempt to start improving the state of my poor barnet and so picked up a pot of this on a whim, purely for the price and I liked the smell.

For £2.03 you get a massive pot of treatment, and you don't need to use all that much on your hair.

From the moment I started to use it I could feel my usually dry hair become a lot softer and less knotted. The consistency of the treatment is quite thick, but spreads evenly throughout the hair. I've now been using this for 6 weeks and even my hairdresser commented on the condition of my hair! I try to use it twice a week on my medium length hair and leave it in for a good five minutes.

If your looking for a low cost product before payday then I cannot recommend this enough!

I'm always on the look out for more products, let me know what you use!

Thanks for reading xx

Boots and Tesco stock up

Afternoon all, if your reading this then it means I'm either eating mums roast dinner or in the car heading back to Watford from Lincoln :(

I never thought I would put Tesco into a title but I popped into town the other day and grabbed some bits.

I saw in Twitter last week that Boots were spoiling us even more then normal and had 3 Lee Stafford products for the grand total of £12! So I practically ran down to Boot and picked up two more pots of Lee Stafford hair treatment for hair that doesn't grow, it's really good, as well as a bottle of the Matt Fat volumising powder. Considering the costs of the hair treatments would total more then £12 then I am really chuffed as I love that treatment although it means I have to dye my hair more often!

Next I headed to Tesco where I picked up a bottle of the TRESemme 24 hour Volume root boosting spray as I'm on the quest for better hair.

Finally, Tesco also had buy one get one free on the VO5 Adaptive Hair Care range so I picked up the shampoo and conditioner with the Nourishing formula as my hair gets dried out with the dye, and for £3.50 I couldn't really complain, and I want to see if it really does work!

So all that for under £20, plus lots of Boots and Tesco points as well!!

Have you tried any of these products? Let me know!!!

Thanks for reading xx

NOTD: OPI You Don't Know Jacques!

Afternoon all, hope your enjoying your Saturday afternoon. After my last NOTD I started craving dark colours again and so I raided the colours that I have with my at my parents and found a nice transitional polish in the shape of OPI's You Don't Know Jacques!

A milk chocolatey brown with a cool edge to it, this is a great colour on fair and tanned skin. I think it's very similar to Models Own Purple Ash, maybe slightly less reddish but I think that this one will become a regular of mine!

What do you think, do you like it? You can get it from Lena White for £10.50 at
www.lenawhite.co.uk

Thanks for reading :)

Sitting, Waiting, Wishing...

Afternoon all, hope your all well, it is Friday after all.

I've been sat answering phones for my Dad's company all week, and this has given me a lot of time to browse the internet and make a few wish lists, especially as the weather seems to not know what it wants to do!

I seem to have put together quite a list at Topshop together. I don't own an awful lot of Topshop clothes as I find the fit of them to not be very forgiving to a more curvy figure, so I simply look at and lust over the gorgeous clothes, but I have found some things I think I could rock, especially in school!

This gorgeous Aran Cardigan is a gorgeous mustard colour, and is the idea transitional piece. I am planning to make this one mine, to wear over my black maxidress, as well as with some chino trousers that I really love at the moment. Priced at £48.00 I think this really is an investment piece that I will get a lot of wear out of! It also comes in cream and blue

This dress is so gorgeous. I love structured fits and they flatter all the right places. The colour of this is so interesting, and I really like the pleat detailing on the shoulder. For £46.00 it is quite a lot so I'm not sure if its worth it, with bare arms in September and then with a longer sleeved top come the cooler months.

How cute is this top! I think the stripes are the perfect combination of wide and slim and the colours are nice and Autumnal. For £12.00, this really is perfect and I think this will become part of my collection!

I very rarely wear skirts, I mean very rarely. I find that because I have long legs, as well as a big bottom the sit a lot higher then I would like. This skirt is ideal for me as it is from the Tall range so would be longer, and the paperbag waist sits ideally with a top tucked in. For £30.00, this is something I could get a lot of wear out of in school, especially with tights and either heels or boots.

Finally, no outfit is complete without shoes. I adore shoes, I have far too many pairs that I hardly wear, but that doesn't stop me buying them. These boots are great because they have don't have a missive heel so they would be comfier to stand up in all day. The ankle strap would sit at the smallest part of the leg so making legs appear slimmer - I think I might have to invest in these at £80.00 but they are leather and they would last all autumn and winter!

I think I better start saving if I want to buy any of this! What about you, what things are you lusting after? Do you have any plans for what you want to buy for the new season!

Thanks for reading! xx

NOTD - OPI Planks A Lot

Afternoon, is it me or has summer come to an abrupt end today?!

I has been really mixed recently and so I went in search in my DVstash for some colours to brighten up my mood as it has been so cold!

This polish is from the Pirates of the Caribbean collection that OPI brought out to celebrate the film.

When this collection first came out, there wasn't really any polish that I was interested in, and I just dismissed it. What followed was an onslaught of posts about this collection, and although this polish wasn't the star of the show but it caught my eye! I'm not a pastel fan, but this one is the right side of pastel for me!

This is a great blue toned lilac, which was enough to brighten up the miserable weather we had, I managed to get a picture when the clouds broke for a moment but really there was very little sun!

As with all OPI, this had a nice creamy texture which applied totally opaque in two coats and it doesn't need top coat as it is really glossy!

What do you think, did this one catch your eye? What other polishes from this collection would you recommend? You can buy this from Lena White for £10.50 at www.lenawhite.co.uk

Desert Island Products

Imagine that you are going on holiday to a desert island. You are only able to take limited products with you...what would they be?

I thought this would be fun to share what my can't live without products would be, and to hear about yours!

  • Benefit You Rebel Tinted Moisturiser as I hate wearing foundation all the time, but mixing some of this with my chosen foundation is a great for a light coverage!

  • Maybelline The Colossal Volum' Express Mascara is in my opinion the best mascara I have in my collection. I love that it creates really dark full lashes, and I often just wear this with no eyeshadow at all.

  • Models Own Purple Grey is the colour that I always reach for when I'm undecided. I think that most of the Models Own polishes are fantastic and this colour is one that I cannot live without!

  • Tresemme Colour Revitalise Shampoo and Conditioner is my current love for my hair. I use the shampoo as it helps lock in the red colour that I dye my hair. I cheat with the conditioner and have a bottle of hair dye mixed into it that I put in my hair to keep my colour bright red! I really noticed that this does help me fight the fade, even just using the shampoo on its own!

  • Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish has been sitting on my shelf for a while whilst I used up my previous cleanser and I love that I am now able to use it! It's fantastic, need I say more!

I think those would be the 5 (OK 6) products that I would take with me, what about you?

Thank you for reading x

NOTD -OPI Lincoln Park after Dark

Evening all, hope you are well.

It may be summer but I have been craving dark nail polish, I love them all year round. I went to my collection and dug out a polish that I felt was perfect!

Here is the gorgeous Lincoln Park after Dark:

It photographs black, but under the sunlight it is a gorgeous dark blackcurrent purple. It's super shiny without a topcoat, and applied like a dream. This picture is after 3 days wear and there is only minor tip wear as I've been washing up a lot!

I think this polish is one of those that everyone should have, it's great summer or winter!

What do you think of this polish? Do you like dark polish in summer or is it just me?!

Sleek Pout Polish - Bonaire

Afternoon all, I hope this post finds you safe and well where ever you live.

I'm totally shocked by what has been going on around the country, especially those in central London.

Any how, I think I'm a bit late on the bandwagon with this post as it now seems to have vanished from the shelves, however I only managed to hunt this down last Monday!

I'm fairly new to Sleek make up, I have the Storm Palette which I adore, but I always stop by the stand in my local Superdrug.
I've read a lot of posts about orange lip colours for the summer season, but the thought of applying a lipstick filled me with fear, I struggle to apply normal coloured lipstick, so a tinted balm is much more me!

I picked up the Sleek Bonaire Pout Polish and was amazed at just how orange it really was. I applied it using my finger and was pleased with the result.

The consistency of the polish is very to a Vaseline lipbalm, and the colour payoff is just enough to tick the orange lip trend. If you wanted to deepen the colour you could layer it over an orange lipstick or lipliner.

The colour lasted about 2 hours before it needed to be reapplied, and wasn't gloopy at all. The only downside to this is that it gets gloopy in the pot when it is hot, and I don't think I will get it all used before it's no longer 'in fashion.'

What do you think of this Pout Polish? Are there any other ones I should pick up?

Summer Reading - Chick Lit

I love books, I love reading books, I love buying books, I love just looking at all the books I have collected over the years sitting on my bookshelf. I get my love of books and reading from my mum who has more books then our local library, she really needs another book shelf!

I used to have a lot more time for reading, but heading into my first year of full time work I soon discovered that I no longer could spend hours reading, as a consequence the pile of books to read has grown as I've bought more and more.

So I decided, now that I have a bit of time on my hands that I would try to get through the books and then write a bit of a review.

So here are my books for the summer;

Tilly Bagshawe -Fame
Tilly Bagshawe - Flawless
Belinda Jones - Out of the Blue
Carmen Reid - Celebrity Shopper
Tilly Bagshawe - Do Not Disturb
Belinda Jones - The Love Academy
Tasmina Perry - Guilty Pleasures.

These books are all traditional chick lit books, with similar stories of love, lust and everything in between which make then great reads. Each time I finish a book I will aim to write a review and let you know what I think! I already have one read to review and nearly another one finished!

I'd love to hear your recommendations for books that you have read, I'm always looking for more!

5 minute face - summer addition

Morning all, where has the sun gone?!

I saw this post over on Dainty Dolly Mix's blog and thought that it looked quite a nice easy one that I could do. I have a very different router in the summer to the winter so this is what I put on most days in the summer!

Products
  • Benefit You Rebel tinted moisturiser with SPF 15
  • Benefit You Rebel Lite tinted moisturiser with SPF 15
  • Benefit Erase Paste in No2
  • Benefit Georgia powder box
  • Sleek storm palette
  • Benefit Hoola Bronzing Powder
  • Benefit Dallas
  • Boots 17 Falsifeye Mascara
  • Inka Mineral Eyeliner

I really do use a lot of Benefit products, but I love them, to me they were always high end products when I was a poor, uneducated teen (now I know better!) however I really love them and they last for ages!

I like to mix the You Rebel's together to create a custom shade, I find it's better for my skin tone, and it makes the tubes last longer (or so I like to think!)

I use the Sleek palette daily, mostly the neutral shades, as well as using it for my eyebrows.

By the time I've put all this on, I think I'm nearer 10 minutes then 5. I tend to not put anything on my lips bar boring Vaseline but that's just me!

I'd love to see what products you use for your five minute face, put your links in the comments box so that I can see!

Six Weeks of Summer Challenge, Week One

Afternoon all, hope your well and have been out enjoying the sun!
Today I bring you an update of my Summer Challenge. If you haven't seen my previous post then what I'm aiming to do is to see what difference I can make to my body over the course of 6 weeks through exercise and healthy eating. I am weighing myself weekly as well as taking my measurements every week.

So my previous measurements were:
Thigh -26.5 inch
Bum -46 inch
Hips -43 inch
Waist - 36 inch
Bust- 36e
Arm - 14 inch
Weight -14stone 7lbs

Week one measurements

Thighs - 25.5 inch (-0.5)
Bum - 44.5 inch (-1.5!)
Hips - 42 inch (-1.0)
Waist - 34.5 inch (-1.5!)
Bust - 35 inch (-1.0)
Arm - 13.5 inch (-0.5)
Total inch loss 6 inch!
Current weight 14stone 6 lbs ( -1 lb)

I'm really happy with my weight loss this week as it's the inchs that matter more. The fact that I have lost very little weight, but my inch loss is good which means I'm losing fat and putting on muscle which takes up less space.

I'm now up to two classes a day with a mix of cardio and resistance. I hope to keep pushing this for the next 5 weeks!

If you have any questions about what I have been doing, or want to share your success as well then please comment, I love being motivated by hearing your stories!

Enjoy the sun!!!
