My Make Up Bag #4

Hellooo lovely people, I hope you've had a wonderful week - I can't believe we're already back to another Monday already, it’s been a mad busy weekend but it's nice to spend some time being busy.

Make up this week is a lot of high street make up, it’s nice to use a lot of my old favourites.

Base this week is a combination of two Rimmel Lasting Finish 25hr Foundations in Soft Beige & Ivory. These two mixed together are the perfect tone for me at the moment, not too dark but not to ghostly for my current skin tone. Concealer is Wake Me Up from Rimmel, love this stuff! Cheeks are a combination of Rimmel Stay Blushed (sensing a bit of brand love!) and Collection Bronze Glow, I think this was from a Glossybox so I've not tried it but a quick swatch says it’s just enough to warm up my face a bit.

My love for Anastasia Dip Brow is still going strong, I think I need to review it soon really but I haven't stopped using it. Shadow this week is MUA's Heaven & Earth Palette; I forgot how good the shadows are in this. Liner is a black gel from No 7, this was my first foray into gel liner many years ago and it’s about time it got some love again. Lashes this week come in the shape of Benefit's They're Real mascara, after my love for Roller Mascara last week it's nice to be using my other favourite mascara.

Those are my picks this week, what bits would you pick out of my selection? What are you using this week?

Make Up - 5 Lipsticks

Topshop, Rimmel, Revlon, MUA Lipstick Swatches

I'm terrible at wearing lipstick - I own loads of lip products however they very rarely get used, I always forget about them over the course of the day and they then spend weeks rolling around the bottom of my handbag. So I've made it my mission to try and use 5 different colours over the course of the week, I need to get more use out of them as they just live in my box, unused and unloved.

So this weeks lipsticks tat I've picked are:
- Topshop Lip Crayon in Coy
- Revlon Lipbutter in Cotton Candy
- MUA Lipstick in 04
- Topshop Lipstick in Secret Admirer
- Rimmel Apocalips in Celestial

Some gorgeous colours that need to be shared, they are just sitting in the box. I'm doing my best wearing these, I will wear them more often!

What do you think of the colours? Any tips for remembering to wear lipstick? xx

Makeup - This Week #2

Sunday night blues have hit, and they've hit hard this weekend - my parents have just left after spending the day here as an early birthday celebration and now I feel a bit naff. Oh well, time to get ready for school.

This weeks picks:

Base
Benefit Hello Flawless Foundation (I will get this used up!)

Eyes
SEVENTEEN Doll'd Up Linger
Fat Cat Mascara
MUA Eye Primer
Rimmel Kohl Liner
Benefit Browzing

Cheeks
Topshop Prime Time Cream Blush
Mac Harmony Blush

I didn't fancy full on make up this week, wanted to keep it simple, plus there's some bits that need using up shortly as well!

What bits have you picked this week? What do you think of my picks? xx

Advent Door 8 - FOTD Christmas Shopping

So the Christmas shopping has been started, some gifts purchased and wrapped. I decided to brave the shops in Watford last weekend, and this is the make up I wore for the day. I wanted my make up to be natural-ish, but still with a flawless base and the focus on eyes.

I used Benefit's Hello Flawless foundation as the base, buffed into the skin with the Real Techniques Buffing Brush. It's a good foundation that lasts well in the stressful shopping situation. On my cheeks I've got a light dusting of Bella Bamba, also from Benefit to give a nice rosy flush.

On the eyes I have MUA's Eye Primer, MUAs Undressed Too palette and Smashbox HyperLash mascara.  Topped off with Benefit Browzing, its just a quick look for those days I don't want too much make up but to still look nice and not scare the general public.

Just a quick FOTD, I tend to wear this a lot for work as well.

What do you wear when you're out shopping? xx

Sunday Make Up Shake Up #20

Evening all, hope the weekend has seen you well - I've spent the day planning, marking and cooking for the week ahead - lots of recipes coming up in the next couple of weeks!

This week at school should be a busy one, so I've picked things that I know will stick around on the skin for a long period of time:

- Smashbox Studio Skin Foundation - I love this for when I know I'm having pictures taken, no flashback, even coverage and suitable for my stressy skin at the moment.

- Benefit Erase Paste - Stressy skin means a high coverage of concealer is needed, so out comes this! With a dusting of powder this is great for under eyes and over spots.

- Benefit 10 Box Blush - Contour and blush in one box, an oldie but a good one, I've had this ages and its still going strong, I really should show it more love.

- MUA Undress Me Too Palette - This has sat unloved for a while, having used it today I don't know why I've missed the one out for so long, but its back and better then ever!

- Jelly Pong Pong Fairy Lashes - No idea what this is like, it was in a Glossy Box and so I thought I would give it a try!

- Seventeen Photo Flawless Liner - This has always been a good liner, it lasts,  not too dark or too light and photo's really well.

There are my picks for this week, lots of things I can't wait to play with this week, what bits have you picked for this week? Have you picked any of these before? xx

Sunday Make-up Shake-up #15

Another week and its really feeling like autumn, so much so that I've changed everything around - the golds of the summer are at the bottom of the collection box and now we have some old autumn favourites back again. I'm also on a mission to use up my foundation collection, too many that are not getting fully used up and going a little funny so are chucked so time to use up!

Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation - old packaging, this is quite a good foundation for an oily skin so I'm welcoming it back into use, a full review will come next week I think.

Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealor - Love this, I blame Anna from Viviannadoesmakeup for this but this was my go to last winter and now I've repurchased its back again.

MUA Eye Primer - I've picked powder eyeshadow this week and having oily eyelids means the colour will be gone by lunch so hoping this will help it last longer.

HD Brow Pallette - From a Glossybox, I love making sure my eyebrows look awesome and this is a great little set, plus the lighter colours are good on the lids as well.

Benefit Dallas Powder Box - my tan is fading so Hoola was looking too orange on my skin but this is more flattering for contouring so its nice to dig it back out from the bottom of the collection again.

NYX Eyeshadow in In the Woods - Autumn colours finally, I've had this a while but don't often use it, I'm going to try and recreate a softer version of this look that from the lovely Pixiwoo

Maybelline The Rocket Mascara - I have a lot of love for this mascara so its nice to use it again.

SEVENTEEN Doll'd up liner - haven't used it for a while but I fancy some liner at the moment, last Friday I did a larger liner flick and got lots of compliments so I shall try this out.

be a bombshell liner in Onyx - it was in a Glossybox, I thought I would give it a try, will report back soon.

There are my bits for the week, what bits have you picked for this week? xx

Guest Post - FreshbeautyXOX Summer Make-Up

Hi! I'm Shona from freshbeautyxox and I'm taking over Sarah's blog for the day to share with you some products I've been loving this summer! I think just about everyone changes their everyday makeup routine for the different seasons, especially for summer! I know I prefer less eye makeup, a lighter base and lots of lip products in summer!

First of all my gorgeous makeup bag is from another blogger's online store, The Beauty Closet! I have the Paisley Park Floral Makeup Bag and I really love it! It fits lots in and looks pretty which is also a plus!

For Primer I've been reaching for my new Benefit POREfessional Primer to create an even base. I won this recently in a giveaway so I haven't had it long so far but it has already found its way into my makeup bag! I find it does minimise the appearance of pores and increase wear time of my BB Cream.

The BB Cream I've been reaching for recently is my new Diorskin Nude BB Creme which was sent to me for review consideration. I find it is a tad too dark for me but it doesn't make me look orange, according to friends it makes me look tanned! I'm loving it so far, it feels really light on my skin and evens out my skin nicely. It doesn't cover up my freckles which is good but it does cover blemishes and my red cheeks!

Next up base wise I have my concealer, the well loved Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. I've only come across a few bloggers who haven't tried this! The shade is a good match for me, it covers under eye circles and blemishes and it lasts all day on me! I finish off my base with the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder to keep shine at bay and to try and stop my makeup melting off my face!

For blush I've been reaching for NYX's Powder Blush in Peach at the moment which is a great summer shade. It's well pigmented, lasts on me all day and is inexpensive. I think it is just a great all round blush!

For eyes I keep it really simple in the summer reaching for just mascara and one or two eyeshadows! For eyeshadow I've been loving using Maybelline's Colour Tattoo in Permanent Taupe, it is a great base shade and lasts all day long on me. For mascara I like to have something that I can guarantee will last all day on me. If you follow my blog you'll already know how much I love the MUA Every Lash Mascara! It gives my lashes volume and length but, keeps them natural looking at the same time if I use one coat. It also doesn't flake or smudge at all and is a bargain at only £3!

Finally for lip products I have 3 picks. For me in summer I like to have some moisturising lip products as my lips tend to get really dry in the summer. First up are the new Maybelline Baby Lips that I adore! They have just enough colour for me and are really hydrating, I have 3 shades but these two are my favourites, Pink Punch and Cherry Me. Another great hydrating product is the Revlon Balm Stains, I've been using the shade Cherish a lot lately, it is a lot more pigmented than baby lips and lasts longer as well.

That's what's lurking in my summer makeup bag at the moment! A big thanks to Sarah for letting me guest post for her blog!

Thank you Shona for a great post - I may have picked up some of the Babylips in Dutyfree on my way out! Make sure you pop over to Shona's blog, she writes awesome posts! xx

Shopping my Stash #14

Evening lovelies, how miserable is the weather today, means everyone's gone a bit mad at school, not being able to get outside!

So something to brighten your day, this weeks stash.

Face:

- Murad Skin Perfecting Primer - this appeared many months ago in the January Glossybox, looked at it and put it in my bag of samples and forgot about it, but I'm making myself to use up the products and this one is actually quite a nice product. It applies quite dark on my pale skin but as you blend this disappears and it feels more like a tinted moisturiser.

- 17 Matte foundation - a new product to me, but I've been curious for a while and so picked it up while it was on offer in Boots at the weekend. It claims to leave skin feeling and looks matte for longer - let's see how this copes with my oily skin!

- Benefit Erase Paste - a nice, thick, full coverage concealer for those big bag days, a must after half term!

- Benefit Georgia - I have this just on my forehead as that remain oily no matter what I try, I have this invade the foundation doesn't live up to claims.

- Benefit Dallas blusher box - the sun may not be shining, but this add a warm flush to the skin as though you've been in the sun for weeks. I adore these boxes, and swear by this one for the cooler summer days as its not tan or pink!

Eyes:

- Urban Decay Primer Potion - Another sample, I ignored it as I didn't know if it would replace my beloved Lemon Aid but I fancied a change, and this was the first one I found.

- MUA Immaculate Collection - I love this palette but I really need to become more adventurous with it as intend to be quite safe. So many pigmented colours that I never use, this will be my mission this week!

- Rimmel Scandalous Mascara - another newbie for me, borrowed this from my mum (sorry mum!) as I was curious about it, will it compete with my favourite mascara - Maybelline Falsies?!

- NYX Eyebrow/Liner Pencil in Medium Brown - picked this up a while ago. I like it for brows and eyes for a bit of definition.

- Avon Glimmerstick in Copper - something different for a change.

- Benefit Browzing in Medium - this was my main brow kit for many years but it has become somewhat ignored with the arrival of my HD brow kit but I love the brow wax for keeping my brows defined.

So there you have it, another week and another stash shopping - what products have you chosen this week?

Xx

Shopping my Stash #10

Evening lovelies, hope your well and Monday hasn't been too wet!

Sat on the sofa with the boy who has hurt his back at the gym so this is a quick post before I head back to tend to him!

Face:

 - Maybelline Super Stay 24hr foundation - I love this, although I've picked up the wrong colour and its a bit dark for me.
- Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation - still having a mega love/hate with this but mixed with the Superstay, it lasts longer and makes the Superstay the correct colour.
- Elf Correcter - still loving this.
- Benefit Georgia and 10 - Georgia to set my foundation and for shine touch ups and 10 for contouring my no existent cheek bones and mixed the highlighter looks fairly blush like.

Eyes:

Blogger strikes again!
- MUA Heaven and Earth Palette - Simple but great to use, this makes a nice day time eye look as well as filling in my brows and as an eyeliner.
- Clinique High Impact Mascara - A freebie but I love the full lashes it gives me with only 2 coats! I actually look awake when I use this!

I've got lazy with my chorices this week but I find it easier to just throw this on in the morning (not literally but that would make for an intesting look!)

What are your choices for this week? xx

Shopping my Stash #8

Afternoon lovelies, Monday has flown by, but it is so nice know that its still the half term!

I write this as my boy cooks tea and washes up ( he's well trained) which gives me a chance to catch up on blogs and write up some posts.

This weeks make up choices are because it's half term and I never know what is coming up so I've tried to pick things that work for most occasions.

Face:
Why can't I rotate this?!
Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation - I'm still slogging away with this, but I have found a way to make it more bearable!

17 Cosmetics BB Cream - This is my more bearable way. I mix this with my foundation and it just makes it easier to use, plus it leaves my skin looking and feeling a bit fresher.

Elf All Over Cover Stick - Bought this ages ago so need to give it another try before I can fully comment on it.

Benefit Georgia and Benefit 10 - I love Georgia, lovely peachyness in a box that leaves a nice cover. Then we have 10 which is my first nod towards the summer. I love the bronzer in it as a contour and then mixed together to give a warmer blush on the cheeks, summer is on its way!

Eyes:

I've picked some bits which allow me to make lots of different eye looks, depending on what I'm doing!

MUA Heaven and Earth Pallete - I adore this, I had this before I got my Naked palette so it holds a special place. Plus I learnt to create a smokey eye with this one so I love it even more! Just wish my local Superdrug actually stocked it properly!

Maybelline 24Hr Colour Tattoo in Permanent Taupe - I plan to use this is a base for my eyeshadow or just to wear on its own. I love the colour it gives, which you can see here in this post.

17 Cosmetics Photoflawless Eye Pencil in Black/Gold - This is an oldy in my stash, I had forgotten about it but I love how it makes my eyes stand out more! I picked this colour as its supposed to make brown eyes stand out, I'm not so sure but I still love it for its staying power.

Soap and Glory Arch de Triumph - another thing I had forgotten about but I use this to fill my brows as it gives a lovely colour that doesn't leave me with a scouse brow!

Maybelline Cat Eye Mascara - Love this, it gives a full and dark eye, which wings out my eyelashes.

So there you have it, this weeks choices. If there's anything you want a fuller review on then please let me know as I have a bit of time on my hands and need some blog post ideas!

Shopping my Stash #4

Evening lovelies, a late post from me but I'm snowed under with planning and assesment :( Hate that I can't give my blog my all at the moment but I need to focus on work.

So I shopped my stash on Monday night and here is what I picked!

Face:

  • Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation - I am not loving this at the moment, but until pay day I am suffering it .
  • 17 Photofinish Primer - Love this, only thing that is making me like the foundation.
  • Benefit Bella Bamba - This is a gorgeous blush that makes me look awake and lasts all day at school.
  • Benefit Erase Paste - It conceals best at this time of year.
Eyes:

  • MUA Eye Primer - Just evens out my eyelids and helps stop the liner from migrating
  • Maybelline The Falsies Mascara - LOVE THIS!
  • Boots No7 Gel Liner - LOVE THIS AS WELL!
So there you have it, what I'm throwing on in the morning in a half sleeping haze.

What are you using this week?

Thanks for reading xx

Advent Door 19 - MUA Immaculate Collection

Afternoon lovelies, hope your well. I've only recently discovered MUA cosmetics, having started off with the Heaven and Earth Palette. Since then the Superdrug in town has gradly got a smaller and smaller display which is quite upsetting. So I took to twitter to find where I could get it and the lovely people at MUA said I could shop online at http://www.muastore.co.uk/.

I ended up spending £12.00inc postage on various bits for my sisters Xmas present, and because I spent over £8.00 I got a free Immaculate Collection palette which I am really excited about!

The Immaculate Collection is made up of 24 colours, a neat mix of glitters, shimmers and matt shades, isnt it gorgeous?!

Some of the shades are really creamy and give really good colour pay off, whilst others are more of a highlight colour. I think for £8.00 you can't really go wrong with this and I think I will get a lot of use out of it.

So what do you think? Have you tried the Immaculate Collection yet?

Thanks for reading xx
