#BigBlogmasproject Day 13 - Top 5 Winter Lip colours

Half way through, I'm loving having so many posts on the blog! Today we're taking a look at my current 5 favourite Winter lip colours. I've never been much of a lip product wearer but this year 
I've got into them in a big way! I struggled to narrow down my choices as I reach for a lot of colours but these 5 are my most used.

First up is Maybelline's Colour Drama in Keep it Classy. I love how this sticks around all day, perfect for shopping or going out for drinks.  Next up is Topshop's Wicked. I've had this for ages but don't often reach for it, A very purple berry colour, this looks awesome but needs re-applying. After that is everyones favourite Kate Moss in 107. This is a repurchase as I wore it so much last year, I love it! A super flattering red berry colour. A new one and one that is slowly becoming a regular we have L'Oreal Colour Riche in Blake's Red - a true blue toned red, I have to be careful with what makeup I wear this with but I like it with glowy skin. Finally is Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Grand Cru, I love this, one that I keep reaching for. All of these last a fair amount of time so are great for people like me who apply once and then forget about them!

Make Up - 5 Lipsticks

I'm terrible at wearing lipstick - I own loads of lip products however they very rarely get used, I always forget about them over the course of the day and they then spend weeks rolling around the bottom of my handbag. So I've made it my mission to try and use 5 different colours over the course of the week, I need to get more use out of them as they just live in my box, unused and unloved.

So this weeks lipsticks tat I've picked are:

- Topshop Lip Crayon in Coy

- Revlon Lipbutter in Cotton Candy

- MUA Lipstick in 04

- Topshop Lipstick in Secret Admirer

- Rimmel Apocalips in Celestial

Some gorgeous colours that need to be shared, they are just sitting in the box. I'm doing my best wearing these, I will wear them more often!

Rimmel Apocalips - Celestial Review

Considering I adore all things beauty, I'm not a massive lip product lover - don't get me wrong, I buy them, apply them once and then forget them for the day!

So I wasn't one of those who rushed out to buy the Rimmel Apocalips when they first came out - too many reds that are wasted on me. However I recently caved when playing with them in Boots, plus they were 3 for 2 so walked away with 3 clutched tightly in my hand.

The first one I've worn has been Celestial. A mauvey pink lip colour, this is my current go to as its easy and warms up my skin tone.

It applies like a lipgloss, giving coverage like a lipstick and leaves a stain on the lips once worn off. I love the concept but it is a bit of a pain to reapply. The gloss wears off within two hours depending on what your doing and I find it clings to any dry bits on my lips. I find I'm too busy to remember to reapply and when I tried without a mirror I ended up looking more Coco the clown then Coco Chanel.


I had read on a blog to apply it with the back of the applicator as the well in the doe foot applies too much product and this trick has helped a lot.

I've got two more colours to try out when I get the chance, but for now this will do. What do you think? Have you tried any of the Apocalips collection?

Advent Door 1 - Rimmel Kate Moss Matt Lipstick 107 Review

Afternoon lovelies,

So I thought I would kick off my advent calendar with a Christmassy lipstick. Since the weather turned, I've been on the hunt for winter appropriate lip colours - unusual for someone as pale as me!

There's been a lot of hype recently about the Kate Moss collection from Rimmel, especially the new Matte collection. Now I'm not really a lipstick sort of person, I struggle to even remember to apply lipbalm some days. However when I was in town, I was strangely drawn to the darker colour.

Packaged in the sleek, red of the previous collection, 107 is a deep cherry red lip colour with a good colour payoff, its very true to the colour in the tube. It has a nice finish, considering its matte it doesn't feel drying, however it does show up any flaws on the lips so a quick swipe with a lip scrub and your good to go.

I tend to get 2-3hours wear from this before I need to re-apply, but it does depend on what I'm doing. I like how it fades to a sort of just bitten stain on the lips. Sadly its not one of those lipsticks you can just slick on and go - it needs a mirror.

You can pick this up for £5.49 from Boots or Superdrug, and I garentee that you will be wearing this for the whole of Christmas!!

Now I'm on the search for a darker, more plum/blackcurrent toned lipstick - any suggestions? 

Advent Door 16 - Rimmel Kate Moss Collection Lipstick

Evening lovilies, hope you have had a great week - I'm currently nursing a very sore head after last nights works Xmas do.

I wanted to show you my lipstick that I have started to wear. I like very nude lipsticks and for me this is great! When the Kate Moss range came out there was only one colour that appealed to me, however I could not get my hands on it until recently!

This gorgeous colour is the number 3 which is a nice peachy nude. It comes in very sleek packaging with Kate's name written in red, very simple really.

 It comes out quite brown toned on my skin however on my lips its very neutral, a peachy nude that is great for everyday wear. It lasted really well, and the formula is very creamy so it didn't dry out my lips like some other brands I have tried.

For a low cost brand this is really good, and I think I may start to wear it everyday for work or just generally as well.
