WIWT - All Black Stars

 I'm channelling my inner angry teenager today, I never normally wear block colour but I fancied wearing all black, must be this windy weather on my mood.

A lot of my current go to outfits have revolved around these boots. I've wanted a set of cut out boots for ages, dreamed about the Topshop Audrey boots but alas, they were always out of stock. Last time I was in New Look I picked up these boots as they were the perfect mix of chunky but not too ugly. I love the gold buckles in the sides, plus the cut out detail isn't too obvious. Their fairly flat form esque so you do get some height bonus.

I teamed it with my black quilted pleather skirt from New Look as I love this so much. I will probable never be able to squeeze my bum into real leather so pleather is fine. The quilted pattern makes it very versatile, dress it up with a shirt for work or chuck on a jumper for a more relaxed look.

Added to this, I've got my trusty Primark stars jumper from last year. Lily from Llymlrs wore this recently and I remembered that I had one as well so out it came. Paired with thick, black tights, this is a super snuggly outfit. I wore this last week to work & the kids loved it so I wore it again yesterday for a family roast dinner - perfect for hiding a food baby!

I quite enjoy wearing all black,might start experimenting with black/white combos for Autumn, especially with my boots! Xx

The Autumn Tag

I've seen this on a couple of blogs & love a good tag post so thought I would give this a go:

For Autumn, what is your...

1.  Favourite thing about it?  Chunky Cardigans, Socks & Boots, Layers - I love pulling out all my jumpers and starting to layer them again, dresses with a thick knit jumper and socks with boots! 

2.  Favourite drink?  Costa Hot Chocolate - I love nothing more then curling up in a sofa in Costa with a hot chocolate!

3.  Favourite scent/candle?  Berry Scents at the minute - the berry flavoured ones from IKEA are what I currently have burning as I write this.

4.  Best lipstick?  Topshop Wicked - A deep plumpy red, I adore for a more vampy lip with most autumn colours.

5.  Go to moisturiser?  Origins Make a Difference +, as I have oily/dehydrated skin this is enough hydration at night without being too oily and upsetting my skin.

6.  Go to colours for the eyes?  Browns & Golds for now, although I'm tempted by trying out the reds and plums I've seen recently.

7.  Favourite music or band/singer to listen to?  London Grammar, Bastille, The 1975, really love that style of music - it doesn't change all year round.

8.  Favourite outfit to wear (i.e. boots & a scarf combo)?  Tea Dress, Socks, Boots, Leather Jacket and beanie hat - this will be my go to for work & weekend this year (maybe not the hat for work)

9.  Autumn treat?  I've fallen in love with a pair of boots so I'm on the hunt for a couple of good pairs, if I can ever find them in stock again!

10.  Favourite place to be? At home, curled up in my corner of the sofa with a cup of tea & a good book - I need to read more books instead of looking at a screen all the time!

Virtual Hauling - Topshop Autumn Boots

I know, I'm on holiday but I'm so excited about Autumn as its my favourite season, I like summer but I'm not really a sandals sort of girl, give me chunky boots and socks any day!

So when I was in Topshop recently I couldn't help gazing at the gorgeous boots. I've picked mine for A/W but thought I would show you some of my favourites from Topshop.

Duo Blogger Competition - Autumn Work Wear

Afternoon lovelies - I've seen this floating about on a few blogs and thought - 'why not get involved?!'

I love dressing for Autumn/Winter, with lots of layering and different textures. As I spend most of my time at work, I thought I would do an outfit I would wear to school :)

So I started with the shoes, these are from Duo and are called Carmen, I think their really smart, but the low cut on the ankle means that they will stop at the narrowest part of my legs, helping to add shape and definition - showing off the detail on the tights - which are silver stud embellished!

Layered over the top would be this smart shirt dress from River Island. I love the contrasting sleeves and collar to the main dress, as well as the black skinny belt, however I might change it up for a red skinny belt.

On the top would be this super cute tartan blazer. The boyfriend cut of this blazer is really flattering, and adds a bit of fun to the outfit. I've not worn tartan since I was about 6 but why not give it another go!

To top it off, I've picked a red satchel bag to pick out the red on the jacket, and the inverted cross necklace from Rock and Rose - I can't wait for this to come back in stock!

So there's my outfit for school - I think I might pick up the shirt dress and tights for parents evening :)

A/W wardrobe update - New Look & Topshop

Afternoon lovelies, so this is the last Friday before I head back to school, that means that autumn and winter starts to set in very quickly, so my wardrobe needs a little update.

 New Look - £22.99

First up, I picked up these jeans as I loved the colour, their a cross between blue and green, with a lot of black (really bad description!)Their not quite as thick as jeans, but not quite jeggings, but its rare I like something in a skinny fit (hello thunder thighs!) however I think they hit the grunge trend quite nicely, and I will be wearing them a lot over the autumn! Great for £22.99

Topshop - £55.00

Next up I have this faux-leather jacket from Topshop. I've been umming and awwing about a new jacket for a while, but couldn't commit to a real leather jacket. So browsing the Topshop site, I fell for this jacket, and so popped online and picked it up from the Tall range. Although its a tall, it still sits just above my hips, plus the sleeves are a tad long but I will love it no doubt. This was £55.00, something I can't wait to wear more

New Look - £69.99

Finally, like many others I've lusted over the Office Nighthawk's (£80!) as well as the Topshop Alvin's (£90!!) but couldn't justify them, so when I saw these online at New Look, I knew they would be mine. These are real leather, so totally worth the £69.99 that I paid for them, and I will wear them lots and lots and lots :D

Sitting, Waiting, Wishing...

Afternoon all, hope your all well, it is Friday after all.


I've been sat answering phones for my Dad's company all week, and this has given me a lot of time to browse the internet and make a few wish lists, especially as the weather seems to not know what it wants to do!


I seem to have put together quite a list at Topshop together. I don't own an awful lot of Topshop clothes as I find the fit of them to not be very forgiving to a more curvy figure, so I simply look at and lust over the gorgeous clothes, but I have found some things I think I could rock, especially in school!

This gorgeous Aran Cardigan is a gorgeous mustard colour, and is the idea transitional piece. I am planning to make this one mine, to wear over my black maxidress, as well as with some chino trousers that I really love at the moment. Priced at £48.00 I think this really is an investment piece that I will get a lot of wear out of! It also comes in cream and blue

This dress is so gorgeous. I love structured fits and they flatter all the right places. The colour of this is so interesting, and I really like the pleat detailing on the shoulder. For £46.00 it is quite a lot so I'm not sure if its worth it, with bare arms in September and then with a longer sleeved top come the cooler months.

How cute is this top! I think the stripes are the perfect combination of wide and slim and the colours are nice and Autumnal. For £12.00, this really is perfect and I think this will become part of my collection!  

I very rarely wear skirts, I mean very rarely. I find that because I have long legs, as well as a big bottom the sit a lot higher then I would like. This skirt is ideal for me as it is from the Tall range so would be longer, and the paperbag waist sits ideally with a top tucked in. For £30.00, this is something I could get a lot of wear out of in school, especially with tights and either heels or boots.

Finally, no outfit is complete without shoes. I adore shoes, I have far too many pairs that I hardly wear, but that doesn't stop me buying them. These boots are great because they have don't have a missive heel so they would be comfier to stand up in all day. The ankle strap would sit at the smallest part of the leg so making legs appear slimmer - I think I might have to invest in these at £80.00 but they are leather and they would last all autumn and winter!
